Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, 7:30 PM The Chapel at Concordia University 12800 North Lake Shore Drive, Mequon, WI The Milwaukee Choral Artists, Sharon Hansen, conductor, joins the National Lutheran Choir (Minneapolis, Minnesota), David Cherwein, conductor, for this very special, collaborative performance. Paul Rudoi, winner of MCA's 2011 "Young Composer's Composition Competition" and member of Cantus (also based in Minneapolis), has written a special composition for the combined ensembles that will be premiered in Milwaukee, then repeated in two performances when MCA travels to Minneapolis to perform with the National Lutheran Choir on their All Saints' programs November 3 and 4, 2012. We are a group of women singing a cappella four-part harmony music arranged in barbershop style. The style of singing is more 'pop' than Classical and the choice of music reflects this, with the repertoire including show-tunes, popular songs from the 1930...  moreWe are a group of women singing a cappella four-part harmony music arranged in barbershop style. The style of singing is more 'pop' than Classical and the choice of music reflects this, with the repertoire including show-tunes, popular songs from the 1930s to today, as well as classic barbershop arrangements. There are strong links to musical theatre in that most songs are choreographed, and performing skills are a key element in making a song work. We rehearse every Tuesday, 6:30pm-9:00pm, in central London between Kings Cross and St Paul's.
