Each 3 weeks we learn a new song together and perform 4-5 times per year. Texts are available in Hebrew and in Phonetics, we translate and learn to pronounce and sing together, and have an archive of all the songs and the various harmonies recorded separately to make it easier to learn and join. It's a lot of fun. Hebrew Groove is a young, contemporary, Hebrew vocal group based in Amsterdam. The repertoire consists of Hebrew pop songs from all periods, retouched with the groovy piano and close harmony vocal arrangements of conductor Noam Vazana. Hebrew Groove has performed at: Amsterdam MuseumNacht, Paradiso Choir Festival, Salaam-Shalom solidarity event for Charlie Hebdo, Namen en Nummers, Koor en More Festival and more.  less

As these things do however, the ...  moreThe New 4tet is a group of four friends, Gemma, Emma, Gary and Noel, who as very experienced choral Singers decided to meet once in a while to drink wine, chat, socialise, and do a bit of singing together, just for fun. As these things do however, the project has started to grow arms and legs, and we became available for the occasional bit of singing in public when we feel like it. Since then our performances have included singing in Glasgow Art Club, and in Edinburgh for the Royal College of Physicians. Based in the west of Scotland, we have all sung together in a prominent Glasgow Choir, but the New 4tet gives us a chance to enjoy the much more intimate sensations of singing one to a part. All four of us have been involved in the music industry to a greater or lesser degree, and we all sing to a very high standard and love performing. With a membership of 65-70 musicians from throughout the campus, this ensemble is quickly becoming recognized for its musical excellence. Recent concerts have included Johann Sebastian Bach’s Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, Samuel Barber’s Reincarnations and Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb. Strong sight-reading skills and musicianship are important to membership. This ensemble is directed by Dr. Jonathan Babcock, associate director of choral activities.
