These amazingly talented youngsters perform beautiful, uplifting music. The repertoire is an eclectic mix of music ranging from folk to musical, traditional and popular in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Their confidence, infectious enthusiasm and passionate singing make them enchanting to watch. Paul Rudoi, winner of MCA's 2011 "Young Composer's Composition Competition" and member of Cantus (also based in Minneapolis), has written a special composition for the combined ensembles that will be premiered in Milwaukee, then repeated in two performances when MCA travels to Minneapolis to perform with the National Lutheran Choir on their All Saints' programs November 3 and 4, 2012. The style of singing is more 'pop' than Classical and the choice of music reflects this, with the repertoire including show-tunes, popular songs from the 1930s to today, as well as classic barbershop arrangements. There are strong links to musical theatre in that most songs are choreographed, and performing skills are a key element in making a song work. We rehearse every Tuesday, 6:30pm-9:00pm, in central London between Kings Cross and St Paul's.
