Founded in 2014, the choir has performed more than 350 concerts in Poland and abroad. Our repertoire combines pop, folk and world music in original vocal arrangements, often enriched with movement and choreography. We sing mainly in three-part harmony and work without traditional sheet music, focusing on sound, expression, memory and a direct connection with the audience. Over the years, we have performed at festivals, major cultural events and international projects across Europe, collaborating with professional musicians and artists. We have also created dozens of educational concerts for children and community-based music projects. Poznańskie Senioritki is an ambitious artistic ensemble proving that creativity, stage presence and artistic development have no age limit. Women 60+. Music, energy and no expiry date. 350+ concerts… and we are NOT DONE YET!  Less_link" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="$(this).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">Less

There has been a long tradition of musical excellence at St Laurence’s. The original church, built in the 1880s, had a strong choir of men and boys who took part in the Festival of Britain services in 1951. When the new church was opened in 1968, the musical tradition continued. A new Walker organ was installed in the church, using some pipework from the old organ and Directors of Music have included David Sanger, Professor Roger Wibberley, Paul Dewhurst, Tom Fowkes, Marcus Wibberley, Iain Simcock and andrew Ibbotson. The current Director of Music is Huw Morgan. Girls were first admitted to the choir some ten years ago, but the choir remains unique in this part of south-east London in that it continues to use only trebLes (girls and boys) on the top line. The lower parts are provided by volunteer adults from the local community. Young people receive an excellent musical education, and ...    Less_link" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="$(this).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">Less

A message from the Director: "Christmas 2020 is the first in our 43-year history where we haven’t been able to stage live concerts, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still sing. So, after planning, rehearsing and recording, we are proud to present "What Child is This?" - one selection from our Virtual Christmas Concert of 6 carols. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nstkQZ9-5Gs We hope you will enjoy our renditions of old favourites, some in new settings by our director, along with a few Lesser known pieces from our carol archives.
