Our repertoire spans all musical genres, from barbershop standards to jazz and Broadway musical standards through to Pop and Rock music from the likes of Queen, Michael Jackson and The Eurythmics. Whether you're looking for a Place to sing with others, or searching for a dynamic chorus or quartet to perform at your next show or corporate event, GAC are the group for you. We are made up of around 60 women from all over Auckland, from a diverse range of backgrounds, ages and occupations who Come together to share a love of singing and performing. Open to beginners or those wishing to improve their technique with industry professionals from the UK. Over 12 weeks students will follow a curriculum tailored to helping each student develop at their own speed in all three areas of the artform. In Singing students will leave voice techniques, explore ensemble singing and perform a variety of repertoire. In acting students will learn how to develop character in scenes and songs, explore the physical journey of a character, improve stage presence and text analysis. In dance students will look at a variety of jazz techniques core to musical theatre dance as well as perform several musical theatre routines. Inclusive is the word which probably best describes Open Arts Community Choir. It features people with disabilites and those without, from every section of the community in Northern Ireland. The age range is extensive, from seventeen to over seventy but most importantly members are united by their love of singing.
