Every one of them have learned and recorded individually a part of an original song (Vuela Alto = Fly High). When brought together, this parts sums to a wonderful show of talent and music. This project was made for the graduation prom by students aged between 13 and 15 years old. they show us that the only thing that matters to achieve anything is take the risk and surrender to your dreams. More than a third of them have never sung to an audience before (including Linda, the soloist). the music brings us together, it allows us to raise our voice to the universe and with it "Ni la distancia podrá separarnos" (Not even the distance can take us apart).  less

That talk is usually centered around topics relating to sexual maturation – the birds and the bees. However, in the life of a black child, there’s an additional talk that needs to happen: what to do if they are pulled over or have an encounter with the police. It boils down to four basic principles with the fourth being the ultimate goal: 1. Pull over. Don’t run. Keep calm; 2. Keep your hands where they can see them; 3. Be polite. Save your rage; 4. Zur Zeit bestehen die CHORKIDS ILLERTISSEN aus 56 Sängerinnen und Sängern im Alter von 11 bis 16 Jahren. Mit viel Freude und Engagement proben diese Kinder bzw. Jugendlichen einmal in der Woche je nach Stimmgruppe zwei bis vier Stunden. Fünfmal im Jahr gibt es Intensiv-Probensamstage und einmal im Jahr Intensiv-Probentage im Allgäu. Der Chor hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, anspruchsvolle Chorliteratur verschiedener Stilepochen zu interpretieren. Dabei möchte er sich bewusst von vielen Klischees wenig kultivierten, schulchormäßigen Singens distanzieren und ist bei der Programmgestaltung darauf bedacht, dies auch nach außen hin sichtbar und hörbar zu machen. „Popularmusik“ ist Bestandteil, jedoch auf keinen Fall substanzieller Grundsatz der musikalischen Arbeit. Some Youth Beatwaves interviewed disclosed that they preferred music that would make them dance and that choral music sometimes was boring. Nonetheless, there is a group of Youth who have come together to form a choir which has made a mark both at home and abroad. the Winneba Youth Choir, known to be the number one choral music group in the country was founded in May 1989, under the patronage of Mr. George Mensah-Essilfie and Mr. John Francis Arthur-Yamoah (Paa John). the choir has progressed steadily to the extent that it is now recognized as the most outstanding Youth choir of the nation.
