Its activities soon expanded and now include a regular concert programme, weddings and services throughout Staffordshire and the West Midlands, and guest appearances at other cathedrals. the Choir has a versatile repertoire of sacred and secular music ranging from the Renaissance to the contemporary, and it enjoys the challenge of new and experimental writing. Widely acclaimed Sunday morning broadcasts on BBC Radio 4 have raised its profile well beyond the region, as have its two appearances in the BBC Sainsbury's Choir of the Year Competition, several performances in the Lichfield International Festival, and the recordings 'In Every Corner Sing' (Regent REGCD196) & 'Belgian Choral Works' (Regent REGCD241) with the Lichfield Cathedral Choir and the Fine Arts Brass Ensemble. Individual song parts recorded by the choristers using their own equipment following lead videos made by our Director, Pierre. Pierre then put together the video using Final Cut Pro. A message from the Director: "Christmas 2020 is the first in our 43-year history where we haven’t been able to stage live concerts, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still sing. Choir Invisible (the real one!) sings for Archbishop Desmond Tutu as he arrived in the UK on July 11th 2008. the song, 'Malaika' is in Swahili (My Angel). Film clip is at the moment of arrival, before the concert which took place in the King's Hall, Stoke-on-Trent.
