The one hundred avid choral singers, all non-music majors, come together into this vigorous and passionate auditioned musical group. With all their bright talents, immense potential, remarkable adaptability, diligence and love towards choral music, the singers delight in performing works from a wide range of choral repertoire, including canonic Western choral literatures, American folklore, spirituals and gospel, music, Chinese art songs, Taiwanese folksongs, operatic choral numbers, musical medleys, and commissioned works by Taiwan's own emerging talented composers. We sing music from the early 1900's through to more modern songs such as Billy Joel, The Rat Pack etc. The Chorus focuses on improving singing techniques and making chords "ring" while at the same time simply having fun. We love it when a 4 part chord is correctly tuned and the chord just locks together and harmonics (or overtones) ring out loud and strong. We compete every year in local contest as a mean of measuring our progress against similar groups but we just love to perform for the public and so our contest activities are very well balanced with public performance. We also have a great time together as one of our goals is to provide a place where men can gather and enjoy their interest in singing.
