It was founded in 1978 by Dr. Jeffrey Unger for the sole purpose of providing quality performances of choral music written for the small ensemble. ...  moreHISTORY The New Jersey Chamber Singers (NJCS) is the premier vocal chamber ensemble of the Jersey Shore. It was founded in 1978 by Dr. Jeffrey Unger for the sole purpose of providing quality performances of choral music written for the small ensemble. In the 32 years of its existence, NJCS has presented concerts throughout New Jersey and beyond. NJCS was chosen to represent New Jersey at the American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division convention in Baltimore in 1984 and again in Philadelphia in 1988. In June 1991, by invitation of the Bishop of Washington, D.C., NJCS performed at the National Cathedral. In December 1998, NJCS was the guest of the Orpheus Club of Philadelphia and performed in their annual Christmas concert at The Academy of Music. In 1999, NJCS performed at Alice Tully Hall in New York City. MEMBERSHIP The ensemble is composed of both professional and talented amateur musicians. Membership is by audition. We are a mixed choir, putting on 3 concerts per year; a Spring concert with a wide...  moreFormed following the Newport National Eisteddfod (Welsh cultural festival) in 1988, Newport Philharmonic Choir has gone from strength to strength over the past 25 years. We are a mixed choir, putting on 3 concerts per year; a Spring concert with a wide and varied mixture of music, an orchestral concert in the Autumn, and a charity Christmas concert. We can also be seen throughout the year taking part in various community events; singing at the local Christmas grotto, taking part in flash mobs and singing at weddings and funerals.  less

We offer real opportunities to make new friends and sing together and, by encouraging our members to help out in the running of the choir and choosing our repertoire, we aim to create a 'Tottenham choir' sound that truly and accurately reflects the diversity of the local community.  

Marryatville High School's Special Interest Music caters for selected gifted students and students with musical potential. Choral music is an essential part of the musical development of these students. The Concert Choir is an auditioned choir of about 40.
