As the premiere chorale Ensemble at OSU, the OSU Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Steven Zielke, has garnered national attention and international awards. While touring Eastern Europe in 2001, the choir received the Grand Prize at the Festival of Light in Bulgaria, and in April 2006, the Chamber Choir was selected as the only collegiate mixed choir from outside of the state of Utah to perform at the 60th Music Educators National Biennial Conference in Salt Lake City. The choir has performed in many exciting venues, including a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Smetana Hall in Prague and at Strathov Monastery in Prague Castle, the first choir allowed to perform in the monastery in decades. The choir has also toured Germany, China, British Columbia, and the Southwestern United States. They perform regularly in state and regional music conferences and on art seri...    less

At times deeply meditative, at times sparkling with energy, this is a Gloria with roots in both the classical and Jazz traditions. Frøy Aagre and the choir Schola Cantorum with their conductor Tone Bianca Sparre Dahl are all artists who make a point of trying to communicate directly with an audience. In this audio production from 2L, the listener seems to be among the players. This makes for a very special listening experience - you are captivated by the music's vitality and calm in Uranienborg Church, and by Frøy Aagre's expressive saxophone that provides the linear storytelling impetus to the music. 5.0 SURROUND + STEREO produced in DXD (Digital eXtreme Definition 352.8kHz/24bit) by Lindberg Lyd, Norway.
