An Open World, When I Land and And the Wind are three settings of poems from FletcherLaVallee Bartholomew's collection entitled "And the Wind: Gnostic Poems 1945 - 1979." Minneapolis native Fletcher Bartholomew spent most of his life in aviation, beginning with a childhood flight in a Curtis Robin in 1929. His work in aviation started with a job as an inspector in an aircraft factory. He went on to become a test pilot in World War II, serving at the South India Air Depot at Bangalore, India. He often spoke later of his experience on the ship to India and the people he met travelling around the subCONtinent. He subsequently worked in aviation in Munich, Germany, and in Lima, Peru, before he CONcluded his career working in airport planning and management.  less

The "family" also includes older levels, a treble chamber choir, a mixed young adult chorus...  moreThe Surrey Children's Choir family represents 3 choirs, a Junior Training Choir, an Intermediate Training Choir, and the Senior Surrey Children's Choir. The "family" also includes older levels, a treble chamber choir, a mixed young adult chorus, and a community adult chorus. The Junior and Intermediate Training Choirs (JTC and ITC) provide a program of sequentially developed skills which prepare choristers for admission into the Surrey Children's Choir. The training choirs perform annually at the Family Christmas CONcert and Year End CONcert (held in May of each year). They also often compete at the Fraser Valley Kiwanis Music Festival, always with great results. The training choirs may also perform at various events in the community. The SCC, a treble-voice choir of boys and girls aged 12-18 is a CONsistent gold medal winner at local festivals, hailed by Gerald Van Wyck, Vancouver Community College professor as "one of the best children's choirs in Canada". Invariably with members from 12 to 18 at times, the CdIC was invited to assist at services of SVD priest on ABS-CBN masses and special eucharistic celebration at our parish church of the Holy Spirit in BF Homes at Quezon City. Lately the choir has also been singing at funeral masses of special community members who have rendered extraordinary services to the church  less

We rehearse fortnightly on Tuesday evenings at Holy Angels Church, Hale Barns, Cheshire WA15 0HF. We have enjoyed performing under CONductors Christopher Foy, Imelda Leah, Jon Henderson and Kate Shipway who took over as Musical Director in June 2013.  

Performance by the Mansfield University CONcert Choir CONducted by Peggy Dettwiler at the 2014 World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia. They won a gold medal and third place in the mixed Youth Choir Category.
