The School's Choir became very successful in the mid-1980s, winning many competitions including the Llangollen Eisteddfod. When School was over, it seemed natural to carry on singing together as a Choir, and the group's achievements included reaching the semi-finals of Sainsbury's Choir of the Year and appearing on Opportunity Knocks.
In the 1990's, the Choir moved to Harrow and officially became known as Jubilate. Sarah Stroh took over as Musical Director in 1999 and since then the Choir has grown significantly, doubling in size to its current membership of 43. There are still some original members of the Choir, who have been singing together for more than 25 years.
Our recent competition successes include winning the Barnardo's National Choir competition in March 2013 and the ladies Choir, folk and popular music classes and runner-up with distinction in the sacred music class in the 2012 Mid-Somerset Festival. We came fourth at the prestigious Interna... less

The Student Union Choir of the University of Turku (TYY Choir for short, established in 1987) is a mixed Choir of approximately 60 singers from all the faculties and even outside the University. In August 2009, Mikko Sidoroff started his work as the Choir’s conductor.
The Choir’s repertoire mainly consists of a wide variety of a cappella songs. The Choir can be found performing in Turku as well as other cities many times throughout the year. Traditionally, there is a quartet concert in January, a spring concert right after May Day (Vappu) and an advent concert in December.
The TYY Choir has participated in many venues outside of Turku. The Choir represented Finland in the international Choir competition in Coleraine, Ireland in 2006. The competition could not have gone any better as the Choir won in the category of mixed Choir and was given the award as best Choir. Specialising in acappella African vocals, our performances are enhanced with dynamic percussion and traditional dance. Many arrangements are created by the group's Musical Director, Mr Steve Cook, and by the students themselves. Our repertoire includes a range of traditional and contemporary African songs in a variety of languages.
Over the years, this outstanding group has developed a reputation for thrilling, breathtaking and energetic performances at School concerts and further afield.
