Milwaukee Choral Artists, Sharon Hansen, Music Director. The text, by Buddhist Thich Nhat Hanh, was written as a peace chant in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. In beauty, sitting on a lotus flower, Lord Buddha, quiet and solid. Your humble disciple, calm and pure of heart, Forms a lotus flower with the hands, and offers this heartfelt prayer: Homage to all Buddhas in the ten directions. Because of your love for all people, have compassion on us. Help us to remember we are just one family, North and South. Help us rekindle our compassion and brotherhood. May your compassion help us to overcome our hatred. Humbly we open our hearts to you: Water the flowers of our spirits with your deep understanding. Humbly we open our hearts to you: Help our hearts grow light. Homage to all Buddhas in the ten directions. Because of your love for all p...    less

Individual song parts recorded by the choristers using their own equipment following lead videos made by our Director, Pierre. Pierre then put together the video using Final Cut Pro. A message from the Director: "Christmas 2020 is the first year in our 43-year history we have no live concerts, so we present this Virtual Concert of 6 carols. I am proud of my musical colleagues for putting these videos together. I thank them for their loyalty to our fans and their fellow choir members, and for their diligence in preparing individual performances to such a demanding degree of musicianship. We all share an understanding of how important it is right now to share the joy of song with the world. Joined by my wife Holly and all the members of the Stairwell Carollers, we wish you peace and joy this Christmas season. We will perform live for you once again soon. Pierre Massie - director  less
