Choral competition in Kork (Ireland), May 2013
[this is a version of a post which first appeared on my blog From the Front of the Choir] I’m often asked by concert-goers and choir leaders alike: “Where do you get all your Songs from?” Well, here...

We specialise in performing hit Songs mainly from the 1980s as you've never heard them before. Why? Because the majority of our Songs are arranged specially for us by our ridiculously talented in house music team. We perform all over London in clubs and pubs and can be relied upon to bring a sparkle to any occasion, as Musical Director Kat Yates explains: "In KiS (as we're known to our friends) we've really put the emphasis on fun - and our audiences relate to this. As a result we've performed at festivals, events and celebrations all over London and people always ask us back for more. Plus we sing all your favourite 80s Songs - what more could you want ?" onclick="$(this).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

Text by Janet Loxley Lewis, from "The Selected Poems of Janet Lewis". Recorded live on Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in fort Lauderdale, Florida. Performed by the Concert Choir ensemble of the Girl Choir of South Florida. Artistic Director: Wallis Peterson, Accompanist: Gayle Giese. Below the gardens and the darkening pines The living water sinks among the stones, Sinking yet foaming till the snowy tones Merge with the fog drawn landward in dim lines. The cloud dissolves among the flowering vines, And now the definite mountain-side disowns The fluid world, the immeasurable zones. Then white oblivion swallows all designs. But still the rich confusion of the sea, Unceasing voice, sombre and solacing, Rises through veils of silence past the trees; In restless repetition bound, yet free, Wave after wave in deluge fresh releasing An ancient speech, hushed in tremendous ease. onclick="$(this).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less
