Founded in 1970 by a group of enthusiastic amateur singers, our repertoire ranges from the great Classical choral works to modern contemporary pieces. Under the skilled direction of Howard Kane, who was appointed musical director in 2008, and ably assisted by Robert Woods the Choir has grown in size and reputation. Rehearsals Monday nights are rehearsal nights which are held in Frodsham Methodist Church, Kingsley Rd, WA6 6BA from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. New members are welcome to come along and give us a try. We rehearse from September through to July for our four main concerts, which are held in Frodsham, and also take our music to other venues in the area. Groups of singers from within the Choir are available to sing at weddings and the Choir regularly puts on events to raise money for local charities.  less

The Choir was initially created to unite students with a shared interest in praising the Lord through song. Soon, however, the weekly Choir rehearsals became not only a meeting place, but also a refuge for those looking for a non-threatening and empowering environment. Over the years, the Choir has grown to include members of all races and Christian denominations, and celebrates not only the diversity of its members, but also that of its audiences. UTGC has burst onto the international scene, while continuing to serve the greater Toronto community in local concerts and university events held throughout the year, like their community Christmas concert, and May's Gospelfest. In the past, the Choir has also participated in the annual "The Colours of Christmas" concert as the guest of top international recording artists, such as Peabo Bryson, Roberta Flack, and Jon Secada, just to na...    less

Set for SATB Choir. It is a meditation on the meaning of transubstantiation. In meiner Hand liegt Gott [English original] Hoc est enim corpus meum The world's eternity lies here within my hand. The weight of pain, of love, redemption is a sigh upon my hand, My Christ, Lord of the infinite, small to my comfort in my hand. Humility of Love that tender here lies low. White, trusting, full of care within my hand. So, in my hand lies God. Hoc est enim corpus meum.  less
