Many of our Singers are school music teachers and voice teachers. We perform a wide variety of music from classical and broadway to pop and vocal jazz. The choir was founded in 2011 by friends who have spent their lives teaching others to perform, but whom rarely get the chance to sing anymore. We are directed by Jason Krigas and accompanied by Kathryn Polyack.

Kikimasu (grades 4-6) offers a focus on thorough and excellent music education, with Singers learning about healthy vocal production, the body-voice connection, and vibrant performance presence, as well as ant emphasis on musical literacy, music theory, and sightsinging skills. As with all our ensembles, Kikimasu provides a sECUre and accepting social environment where all Singers feel their importance as members of the group. Most importantly, Kikimasu has fun and creates exciting music!
Kikimasu means “hear it” in Japanese; you can look forward to hearing the music they make at every concert! less

We give you the pleasure of enjoying fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team that enriches the life of all of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of music from popular to classical. Our selections are fun and challenging for Singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences.
Open rehearsals for potential new members are held in September and January at the beginning of the rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect new members to be experienced in four part choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet music. We are always concerned with maintaining a good balance of voices, and we cannot promise to accept all applicants.
