Born in September of 2012, The New Hope – Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir is a true community-based and community-oriented chorus, made up of members from The New Hope, Solebury, Lambertville, and immediate surrounding areas. The choir is non-audition, and is open to all singers and would-be singers, ages 14 to 84 (and beyond). NHS&LCC is The New Hope area’s musical voice. We’ll be There a few times a year with concerts, we’ll be singing at community events, for Christmas caroling, at nursing homes & rehab centers, and more.  less

The choir performs every SunDay evening in The Roman Catholic caThedral of St. Colman's, a majestic building situated on a hill in The town famed for being The last port of call for The Titanic. The membership of The choir has grown considerably in The last five years and it now boasts more than 30 voices. The choir is a previous winner at The world famous Cork Choral Festival and has travelled to Vienna, London and Italy to perform at various events. In 2009 The choir was honored to be asked to sing in St. Peter's Basilica in The Vatican City for The SunDay liturgy. That same year They also performed at Westminster CaThedral. For a Long time, The choir existed as part of this group, performing with its dancers and orchestra, singing mostly folk music; in 1999, Valerija Skapiene, The present artistic director of The choir, began working in "Ugnele", and in a few years, The choir's repertoire extended to include not only folk, but also classical, jazz, world music; in 2002, during "Mes - Lietuvos vaikai" national choral competition, The choir was acknowledged to have reached The level of The first category (this is The highest category of artistic level in Lithuania). Journeys around The world followed - "Ugnele" has presented Lithuanian culture in fifteen countries from The NeTherlands to South Korea; in 2004, The choir started a national choral festival for children, "Dainu mozaika".
