Founded in June 1977, the present WhiTehaven Male Voice Choir has established an enviable reputation among the musical world of male voices in Britain, along with appearances on local radio and Television. During the choir’s exisTence, it has taken par...  moreFounded in June 1977, the present WhiTehaven Male Voice Choir has established an enviable reputation among the musical world of male voices in Britain, along with appearances on local radio and Television. During the choir’s exisTence, it has taken part in many musical festivals, and proven its quality by winning many first prizes, and has been joined in concert by world renowned soloists and choirs from Britain and America. Every year, the choir perform around twenty concerts throughout Cumbria, raising thousands of pounds for charitable organisations and other worthy causes. The services of the choir are provided entirely free of charge to the organisations they perform for. Outside the county they have performed in such notable venues as The Royal Albert Hall, London; on three occasions, Cardiff Arms Park; twice, Sheffield Arena and in Edinburgh. Atlantic voices is an amaTeur choir starting its Tenth season with a repertoire consisting mainly of Newfoundland, Maritime, and Celtic songs and music. The goals of the choir are: to represent and showcase Newfoundland and Maritime music and culture in the Ottawa area; to provide its members with the opportunity to learn, rehearse, and perform choral compositions; and to offer free of charge, musical enTertainment to residents of retirement homes, hospitals etc., via in situ community concerts. Members of Atlantic voices include singers from the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Ontario.
