Music from every music epoch will be performed from serious to more pop/contemporary a cappella forms. This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.

The group is non-auditioned and consists of music majors as well as students from various academic areas. The Singers usually perfrom at least one major work per year. The chorus is under the direction of Dr. J. Steven Walker.  

This 12-member performs vocal jazz, madrigals, and pop a cappella, etc., and is available for smaller venues around campus and the immediate Fayetteville area. Samford’s A Cappella Choir took some of the top honors at the Florilége Vocal de Tours competition in Tours, France, May 25-27 2012, including: First Prize, Renaissance Competition Ronsard Prize, Renaissance Competition First Place, Free Expression Third Place, Mixed Choirs  less

We may be studying physics, philosophy or French in our off hours, yet once we don the Blue Blazer our voices and hearts are unified in singing about all that is good in the world. Reverent to rambunctious, Hebrew to Hindi, our brotherhood would like to share it all with you.

Paul Caruana in 1974 as a...  moreThe Jubilate Deo Choir is the resident Choir at the parish church of Naxxar (Malta) and is mainly responsible to animate the liturgy of the principal feasts of the Catholic Church celebrated in this parish. It was founded by Rev. Paul Caruana in 1974 as a girls’ Choir and sang for the first time at Christmas that same year. In the following months male voices were added and the enlarged Choir sang for the first time in the Good Friday celebrations of 1975. Eventually adult female voices joined in, establishing an SATB Choir. The first big occasion for the Choir came in 1980, performing works by the compatriot prolific composer of sacred music Joseph Fenech (1917-2010). The Jubilate Deo Choir has since performed at the Teatru Manoel on many occasions, took part in the BBC production “Songs of Praise” that was televised worldwide and in 1990 sang during the visit to Malta of Pope John Paul II.
