Tomislav Veršić in the school year 1992/93 by merging two school Ensembles founded a year earlier: Girls’ Choir, and traditional Dalmatian male Vocal group (so-called “klapa”) “Šufit”. At the end of the following school year, the Choir participated for the first time at the Croatian Youth Music Festival, choral competition which is traditionally held in Varaždin, thereby winning the Silver Plaque. In 1996 the performance of the Choir at the same event was rewarded with Gold Plaque. After this success, the Choir received new, more experienced members, and began to act as the Mixed Choir of Cultural and Artistic Association “Aspalathos”. Although new Ensemble soon became well recognized and multiply awarded, it ceased to be a part of the school and thus of this historical review as well. The Choir regularly performs at weddings, corporate events and massed male voice Choir events, enthralling audiences up and down the country, having also performed in Jersey, Ireland, Belgium, Germany and the USA. Choristers hail from all over North London and have raised substantial funds for national and local charities including the Paul Strickland Scanner Appeal, The Stroke Association, the RAF Benevolent Fund and Bentley Priory Museum.
