Comprised of professionally trained musicians, Innismara is dedicated to the performance of the intimate and hidden treasures of the vocal Ensemble repertoire. Innismara made its debut in the summer of 2010 at Muses and Minstrels: A Festival of Early Performing Arts held in conjunction with the Cupids 400 celebrations. In collaboration with the Hot Earth Ensemble, Innismara performed music from the late Renaissance and early Baroque, highlights of which were recorded for national broadcast on CBC Radio. The success of these performances led to an invitation to participate in a series of workshops and performances in the Labrador Inuit communities of Nunatsiavut in the spring of 2011. Aside from its undeniable musical prowess and versatility in performing classical, Filipino folk, pop, and Broadway genres—all with ease, the Concert Chorus is also recognized as the pioneer of choreographed song for a choir. This innovation was started by the late Dean Reynaldo T. We are a mixed voice choir singing a variety of musical styles including classical, pop, musicals, sacred and Scottish songs. Members' ages range from teenagers to octogenarians. To date we have recorded over 30 albums and raised over £1.5 million for charity.

We accomplish our mission by combining the power of women's experience with musical expression in the following ways: 1) each season we commission one new piece for women's voices from a female composer; 2) each season, we research, uncover and perform a work for women's voices by a female composer who has been overlooked in music history; 3) we provide an annual scholarship to one girl to sing with the Phoenix Girl's Chorus and 4) each season, we perform two annual concerts and a variety of local performances in our communities and schools.  less
