To date They have given over 1500 local youngsters vocal coaching and experience of professional-standard live performance. WYV is run by a team of experienced volunteers who give Their time freely to be able to pass this experience on - The team consists of two primary School teachers, two doctors and a critical care nurse! Warwickshire Young Voices provide high quality musical activities for children from age 2 to age 16 through a range of classes, Choirs and workshops. In all activities, Warwickshire Young Voices prides itself on professionalism - with performances reaching The highest standards. Their Musical Director, and resident composer, often writes music specifically for The children. Warwickshire Young Voices are a busy group. While touring Eastern Europe in 2001, The Choir received The Grand Prize at The Festival of Light in Bulgaria, and in April 2006, The Chamber Choir was selected as The only collegiate mixed Choir from outside of The state of Utah to perform at The 60th Music Educators National Biennial Conference in Salt Lake City. The Choir has performed in many exciting venues, including a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Smetana Hall in Prague and at Strathov Monastery in Prague Castle, The first Choir allowed to perform in The monastery in decades.
