We were originally founded as a workplace choir for K Shoes (taken over by Clarks) of Kendal, Cumbria in 1969. We have around fifty members and support local and national charities. We are a very friendly choir and welcome new members.

Written in 1984 as a hopeful tune for the musical The Rise and Follies of Cape Breton Island during a severe economic downturn, it begins: When the waves roll on over the Waters and the ocean cries We look to our sons and daughters To explain our lives As if a child could tell us why That as sure as the sunrise As sure as the sea As sure as the wind in the trees We rise again in the faces of our children We rise again in the waves out on the ocean and we rise again.... The day he wrote "Rise Again," Dubinsky recalls, he was watching his ailing father observing his grandchildren playing in a swimming pool. Their 4-part harmony and infectious humour has brought them popularity as their repertoire and reputation have grown. Entertaining for pleasure, they raise thousands of pounds for voluntary, charity & community groups. £1200 profit from donations and their first CD was donated to “The Cove” Cancer Centre and further donations have been made to RNLI and Cornwall Blood Bikes (who have received more than £3400 as their current charity). Live broadcasts on local radio and a recording by ‘Spotlight’ for BBC Television followed.
