Since then...  moreThe Ateneo Chamber Singers (ACS) was formed in 2001 by graduating members of the Ateneo College GLee Club who had then just completed a very successful tour of Europe, bagging top prizes in Italy, Ireland, Slovenia, France, Germany and Hungary. Since then, the ACS has established itself as a formidable presence in the Philippine musical landscape. Their unique specialization in sacred choral music has opened a richly eclectic mix of European, American and Asian choral literature that spans medieval to postmodern periods, traditional to contemporary styles, complex art music to highly-textured indigenous music, and moving sprituals to psalmody hewn out of traditional Asian musics. Additional support comes from private foundations, including the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation, as well as gifts from the general public, and the 19/19/19 Campaign. ​We are the House Ensemble of The Rockville Bach Academy, Inc, a non-profit organization chartered in Maryland. Founded in 2011 by conductor Richard Allen Roe, the group first took the name The Advent Project, owing to the Advent repertoire performed on their first concert. The ensemble performs masterworks of the choral-orchestral repertoire such as Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Orff's Carmina Burana, as well as opera choruses, a cappella repertoire, and works specially composed for them. Performances include world-renowned guest soloists and musicians. The ensemble is directed by internationally acclaimed conductor and composer Steven Sametz. Lehigh University Choral Union has performed at New York's Carnegie Hall and has toured internationally in China, Portugal, Hawaii, Italy, Spain, Austria and Hungary. No audition is required but the ability to read music is helpful.  less
