Since 1993, the award-winning "CBC" has staged more than 200 concerts at senior residences, homeless shelters, AIDS and cancer patient residences, and pediatric and rehab facilities. Honored by NY1 News as "New Yorkers of the Week," the CBC's leaders and members are all legal professionals - attorneys, paralegals, legal administrators, law students - who volunteer their time and talents to our community service mission. This tradition caused another one: in the end of each choir's anniversary concert, all the former choristers being present among the audience come to the stage and sing these famous Choruses together with the main part of the choir. This whole competition took place at George Fox University in Newburg Oregon. The South Salem Saxons also took first at their Districts festival in Salem/Keizer Oregon. The Chorus specializes in the performance of Negro spirituals and is dedicated to its preservation as well as the performance of works by African American composers. The CSCC also maintains a liberal helping of standard classical music in its repertoire. Its members come from all walks of life, unified by their mutual love of great music. This award-winning ensemble has performed numerous times on radio, presented its own television “Special” on the Statewide educational television network, as well as appearances on local TV stations. This past Christmas, the CSCC’s 2015 Community Celebration of Christmas was broadcast on public television WGTE.
