Individual song parts recorded by the choristers using their own equipment following lead videos made by our Director, Pierre. Pierre then put together the video using Final Cut Pro. A message from the Director: "Christmas 2020 is the first in our 43-year history where we haven’t been able to stage live concerts, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still sing. So, after planning, rehearsing and recording, we are proud to present Un flambeau, Jeanette Isabelle, one selection from our Virtual Christmas Concert of 6 carols. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nstkQZ9-5Gs We hope you will enjoy our renditions of old favourites, some in new settings by our director, along with a few lesser known pieces from our carol archives. I cannot be more proud of my musical colleagues for forging through the complex logistics of putting these videos together. I thank them for their loyalty to our fans and their fellow...    less

God of Providence, You who have never failed us, Be blessed now and always. You created all things with an eternal love, for our greater good You gave them to us; The bird, our brother, does not sow nor harvest; Though for him to be fed, oh Lord, You provide. A simple lily, a tiny flower, Surpasses the splendor of the great King Solomon. God of Providence, You who have never failed us, Be blessed now and always. Why must we worry of the things to come? Why so many concerns for our future? God of Providence, Master of the Universe, You give to your children more than is needed. In spite of our fears and despite our misfortunes, In our moments of joy and even in our pains, We implore You, oh Lord, God of Providence, You offer us always Your divine presence. Let us search joyfully for the Kingdom of God, for Love and Justice, for Good, for the Peace of the Lor...    less

It is a complex layered poem exploring a multitude of interactions with the morning star - in naturalistic, religious, spiritual and seemingly political terms. Sincere thanks to Matthew Curtis (choraltracks.com) for recording "Stella." To purchase the sheet music for this song, please contact: info@leadingnote.com. I would like to acknowledge the a cappella choir that I sing in, The Stairwell Carollers, and our director Pierre Massie, for their musical inspiration these past 26 years. I would also like to thank my friends in our "Ad Hoc Chorale" for testing out this piece in one of our informal workshops and offering valuable comments. And with deepest appreciation to my brother Adam Rain and my friend Geneviève Lajoie for their invaluable support throughout my composing journey.  less
