Weckerlin, arr. John Lewers. English translation by Sigmund Spaeth. Recorded live on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at All Saints Episcopal Church in fort Lauderdale, Florida. Performed by the Concert Choir Ensemble of the Girl Choir of South Florida. Artistic Director: Wallis Peterson, Accompanist: Gayle Giese. Mother, please explain, what is love? Won't you tell me? Does one feel joy, or is it sad? How am I to know what of late befell me? for now my life no more is glad. Oh, tell me, is loving always kind? Suppose a gentle swain is sighing, Should I be denying? Not long since, to me came a shepherd fair Handsome as could be, and promptly he did swear That he loved me well. How could I tell? How could I tell? If he should come and say the same again, What shall I answer then? What shall I answer then? No one in the village compares with his beauty Whatever he may do or say Is so ful...    less
