Sung by the Fulham Children's Choir, Musical director: Christopher Wray, Piano: Marcus Andrews and Charles Economou Songs and Cries of London Town by Bob Chilcott and varied choral cantata in five movements for STAB Choir, upper-voice Choir, piano duet, ...  moreSung by the Fulham Children's Choir, Musical director: Christopher Wray, Piano: Marcus Andrews and Charles Economou Songs and Cries of London Town by Bob Chilcott and varied choral cantata in five movements for STAB Choir, upper-voice Choir, piano duet, and optional percussion. The two outer movements draw their words and inspiration from boisterous cries of 17th century market vendors as once featured in 'The Cries of London' by Orlando Gibbbons. The second movement features the words of a Scottish poet, William Dunbar (c. 1460-c.1520), in which he praises the English capital, and includes the line 'London, thou art the flower of cities all'. Together, these settings evoke a surprisingly contemporary impression of London's sights, sounds, and moods, inspiring some irresistible music, by turns contemplative and unquenchably thrilling. This 'capital' cantata was written in 2001 for the Diamond Jubilee of the Barnet Choral Society, of which Chilcott is President.  less

Every one of them have learned and recorded ind...  moreThe Junior High Students of the Colegio Sembradores de Amistad in San Luis Potosí, Mexico show us that music is an universal language that brings us together, defeating every obstacle like time and space. Every one of them have learned and recorded individually a part of an original song (Vuela Alto = Fly High). When brought together, this parts sums to a wonderful show of talent and music. This project was made for the graduation prom by students aged between 13 and 15 years old. They show us that the only thing that matters to achieve anything is take the risk and surrender to your dreams. More than a third of them have never sung to an audience before (including Linda, the soloist). The music brings us together, it allows us to raise our voice to the universe and with it "Ni la distancia podrá separarnos" (Not even the distance can take us apart).  less

Featuring an international selection of musical artists and celebrity hosts, the concert honored the spirit and message of the Nobel Peace Prize. It was a musical celebration like no other. These dynamic and talented singer...  moreThe SYC was formed in 1998, as children's Choir singers grew and voices changed! This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in the Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, the SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined the senior and chamber Choirs in their 2009 tour to the UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in the Mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries. All of the vocalists started their «internship in singing» with well-known children’s Choir of Osijek, i.e. «Osječki zumbići» (Tiny mosquitoes of Osijek).
