During the choir’s existence, it has taken par...  moreFounded in June 1977, the present WhitehAven male Voice choir has established an enviable reputation among the musical world of male voices in Britain, along with appearances on local radio and television. During the choir’s existence, it has taken part in many musical festivals, and proven its quality by winning many first prizes, and has been joined in concert by world renowned soloists and choirs from Britain and America. Every year, the choir perform around twenty concerts throughout Cumbria, raising thousands of pounds for charitable organisations and other worthy causes. The services of the choir are provided entirely free of charge to the organisations they perform for. Outside the county they hAve performed in such notable venues as The Royal Albert Hall, London; on three occasions, Cardiff Arms Park; twice, Sheffield Arena and in Edinburgh. This 30-strong male choir aspires to the celebrated male choral tradition and delights in exploring its infinite artistic depth. Under the leadership of Meng-Hsien Peng as conductor and artistic director since 2013, the choir has achieved prestige as one of the country’s foremost choral groups. Throughout its seventeen years of existence, the Müller Chamber choir has time and time again participated in international choral events to expand its artistic vision. In 2007, led by maestro Julian Ching-Chun Su, the choir participated in the 23rd Takarazuka International Chamber Chorus Contest in Japan and took home a gold medal in the Folklore category and a silver medal in the Romantic category, placing second in the overall ranking. Our repertoire ranges from the traditional to the contemporary, from sacred to 'songs from the shows', from Wagner to Rod Stewart. We maintain a good balance of concert and social activities. We practice every Tuesday night from 7.45pm to 9.30pm at Stithians Methodist Chapel. We hAve made a number of recordings including (with Stithians Ladies choir) five well known Sankey Albums. Un delicioso y accesible arreglo de la canción folklórica tradicional inglesa para voces de SAB. Un acompañamiento de piano melodioso apoya las líneas vocales líricas y las ideas melódicas se transmiten entre las voces, lo que permite que todos pasen un rato con esta hermosa melodía. ¡Algunos momentos armónicos no tradicionales pero interesantes hacen de esta una edición que sus cantantes apreciarán y su audiencia no olvidará! The ‘Boys from Bath’ are a 60 voice auditioned choir who hAve entertained audiences across the UK and toured Europe and the world performing in some of the most prestigious concert venues. In 2008 the choir achieved national acclaim when they reached the finals of a Saturday evening BBC television choir competition ‘Last choir Standing’. The choir sing a wide range of music from traditional, pop, gospel, musicals and secular music.
