We now h...  moreThe Royal Free Music Society is a choir based at the Royal Free Hospital in North London. The choir was founded in 1999 by staff of the hospital. These Days, some of our members are hospital staff whilst others are members of the local community. We now have approximately 45 members in all and come together regularly to enjoy high-quality music-making whilst having fun.

In mid-April, 2011, Ola spent 3 Days on the Ce...  moreComposer/pianist Ola Gjeilo joins the CWU Chamber Choir (Gary Weidenaar, director) in presenting Gjeilo's "The Ground" - featuring the the CWU string faculty members who comprise the Kairos String Quartet. In mid-April, 2011, Ola spent 3 Days on the Central Washington University Campus for a project in which he joined the choir in recording 3 of his compositions. On this video, Gjeilo accompanies the choir on "The Ground" He is playing a written accompaniment on this video. He created an improvised accompaniment on the other two videos of this series. One is on his setting of the "Ubi Caritas" text and the other is on his composition, "Northern Lights", Because of his view that improvising is a wonderful snapshot of artists "at that moment", the project was entitled "In the Moment".
