It is composed of members coming from the Senior High School and College levels of the University, and in the recent years, it has bagged awards in different inter-school competitions, including the Southern Luzon Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SLCUAA) Cultural Competition wherein it ranked as the 1st Runner-Up in 2017 and 2018, and the 2nd Runner-Up in 2019. It has also sent its members to acclaimed skill improvement programs such as those organized by the Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. wherein its members were hailed as the best in singing workshops in 2016, 2017, and 2018.  less

One could trace back choral singing at St. Benedict’s to the early years of the 20th.Century when La Sallian Christian brother expatriates from Europe inculcated in the local staff and student bodies , an appreciation of choral singing. They brought to our school the rich traditions of classical music that prevailed in Europe, at the time. By and by , they were ably assisted by highly interested and committed lay trainers cum teachers who went on to train prize winning choirs that stood out among schools and also were in great demand for national events. The history of the Benedictine choirs would not be complete without reference to the great English musician Rev.Bro. Hugh Farrington , ably assisted by Bonnie Fonseka. They established the reputation of Benedictine choirs. SINGERS: Valley Chamber Chorale members are talented singers committed to a high standard of performance. Just as our concerts display a dynamic diversity in programming and instrumentation, so do our singers reflect marvelous variety. Our members are educators and students, physicians and attorneys, stay-at-home moms, clergy, pilots, corporate executives and professional musicians. Some have sung with the Chorale for more than 30 years – some have sung just a year. We are an auditioned chamber choir of 30-40 members who love sharing the joy of choral singing with each other and our community. Our regular season consists of at least 4 concerts featuring a variety of musical genres and styles. Because we seek to create meaningful musical experiences, we value interaction and education in our performances. Our audience members often tell us how much they love learning about the music from our director’s comments, which help them more fully enter into the music and enjoy it.  less
