Moses Hogan (1957-2003) Spiritual Moses Hogan was an internationally renowned pianist, composer and arranger of choral Music best known for his arrangements of spirituals. He studied with a full scholarship at Oberlin Conservatory of Music before continuing with his graduate studies at Julliard School of Music. He won several piano competitions during his performance years and published many CD's as well as songbooks. 'Hold On!' is an example of his 'soloist vs Choir' style of spiritual arrangements. There is a solo throughout that sings the primary lyrics and message of the song while the rest of the Choir provides a lively and energetic - often rhythmic - accompaniment. The choristers looked at the formation of the Choir as further development to their shared roots from singing with the Limburg Cathedral Boys Choir. They also looked to continue the tradition of successful male chamber Choirs founded by former members of Limburg Cathedral Boys Choir, which is unique in Germany. The ensemble has committed itself to presenting the audience with unfamiliar male Choir works of the highest level, but without neglecting the traditional canon of compositions, which makes for a exceptional combination. Th...  moreThe Koro San Isidro Labrador de CAA is the official Choir of San Isidro Labrador Chapel of Mary Queen of Apostles Parish (MQAP) located in the cities of Parañaque and Las Piñas. Formed on 1995, the Choir mainly sings at masses at the chapel every week. The members are composed of high school, college students and out of school youth and employees who lives in Timog, CAA, Las Piñas City that is why the former name of the Choir was Timog Youth Choir. The name was changed since the Choir started to expand its age range from 15-20 years old to open age as long as the member would fit the singing style of the Choir. The Choir usually held Christmas concerts and performs at quarterly general assembly of Choirs in the parish. Last June 2010, the Choir became the Champions of the first-ever Choral Competition of the MQAP in line with the parish’s 25th Anniversary wherein they bested other Choirs which comprises the whole parish.
