During the 1990s the ChoraLe helped re-establish this historic church’s secondary roLe as a center for culture and community. ADC’s artistic success and benefit to the Cathedral community inspired additional collaborations with other Dallas cultural institutions. In 2001 The Cathedral ChoraLe became the Arts District ChoraLe, receiving its non-profit 501(c)(3) status in 2004. Udiana is unusual on the Israeli scene, has appeared on some of the best stages in the country, and is praised highly by the audiences. The choir sings mainly a capella, with an emphasis on current music, and integrates improvisation, drumming, and movement. Udiana has been supported by the Ministry for Culture and Sport since 2012. We aim to express processes in human development, so we build our programs around subjects that we research from different angLes, including “Prayer”, “Song of the Earth”, “Peace”, and “Water”. In 2016 we created a program calLed “SiLence” in collaboration with the Israeli Brass Quintet. We are not professional singers but each of us has a very musical background and we use every opportunity to further our musical horizon, especially in terms of timbre and dynamics.
