In 2003, Matjaž Šček, the conductor of the group, was replaced by andreja Martinjak, who performed regularly with the choir and took part in national and international choir competitions where the choir as well as the conductor were winning numerous prizes and awards. The greatest achievements of the choir include a gold plaque, awarded in the 20th Slovenian national choir competition, Naša pesem (Our song) 2007 and the second place in the 9th international choir competition in Maribor 2008, where the choir also won a special prize for the best Slovenian choir of the competition. In 2008 we celebrated the 80th anniversary of the birth of Slovenian composer Pavle Merkú with a special cycle of concerts. We also performed the fairy folk-tale by Robert Schumman, Der Rose Pilgerfahrt (The Pilgrimage of the Rose) – an oratorio. The programme of Ljublja...    less

Newly formed in 2022, the group is currently comprised of a mixed choir, a men's choir, and a women's choir. The mixed choir meets at the Manchester Rugby Club, and the men's and women's choirs meet at the Wilmslow Rugby Club. The repertoire consists of a little bit of everything - madrigals, movies, musicals, spirituals, shanties, serious songs, silly songs - everything. All singers are welcome, and there is no audition required. We sing as a team, one step at a time.  less

El pasado junio, en el Festival de fin de curso de los Coros Escolares de Voces Blancas del Nalón, preparamos y cantamos nuestra interpretación de la pieza The New One Day One choir Song. De esta manera, sumamos nuestras voces a las de miles de coros y coralistas del mundo que cantan el día 21 de septiembre por la paz mundial. Dziesmuvara also participates in the Latvian Song Celebration festivals and occasionally teams up with fellow university and youth choirs to sing together in concerts. The more, the merrier!
