In 2003, Matjaž Šček, the conductor of the group, was replaced by andreja Martinjak, who performed regularly with the Choir and took part in national and international Choir competitions where the Choir as well as the conductor were winning numerous prizes and awards. the greatest achievements of the Choir include a gold plaque, awarded in the 20th Slovenian national Choir competition, Naša pesem (Our song) 2007 and the second place in the 9th international Choir competition in Maribor 2008, where the Choir also won a special prize for the best Slovenian Choir of the competition. In 2008 we celebrated the 80th anniversary of the birth of Slovenian composer Pavle Merkú with a special cycle of concerts. Our concerts are at various venues in and around th...  moreWe are a small Chamber Choir of 20-25 singers founded 55 years ago, based in the London borough of Hillingdon. We perform a wide repertoire of secular and sacred Music, with and without accompaniment. Our concerts are at various venues in and around the borough, and once a year we perform with a small professional orchestra. We also hold regular social gatherings, to include families and friends, and enjoy Musical evenings and events. Would you like to sing with us? New members in all voices are warmly welcomed. After a few weeks there is a short informal audition, which includes some sight-reading. Members are asked to pay a modest subscription of £11 per month by direct debit. We rehearse weekly during term time on Monday evenings from 8.00pm to 10.00pm, in the small parish hall at All Saints Church, Long Lane, Hillingdon, UB10 9BT. the small parish hall is behind the main church hall, and can be accessed from the side entrance.  less
