Rory Wilson, an experienced choral conductor from Edinburgh, has been appointed and has begun Work with the Choir towards our first concert under his direction in November 2018, based around the Fire Songs of Morten Lauridsen, pairing his settings with settings of the same or similar texts by Renaissance composers.

the Work was composed by Franco Prinsloo to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. 126 of the 154 Sonnets were addressed to – and inspired by – a beautiful Young Man who embodied for Shakespeare everything that was finest i...  is).getParent().getNext().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">moreisplay:none;">the Work was composed by Franco Prinsloo to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. 126 of the 154 Sonnets were addressed to – and inspired by – a beautiful Young Man who embodied for Shakespeare everything that was finest in the world. the Work is a melancholic love song that is based on a folk like melody underlined by a constant pedal point, resembling the sound of bagpipes.
