We give you The pleasure of enjoying fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team that enriches The life of all of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of music from popular to classical. Our selections are fun and challenging for singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences. Open rehearsals for potential new members are held in September and January at The beginning of The rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect new members to be experienced in four part choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet music. Chantage won The BBC Radio 3 Choir of The Year competition in 2006, recorded live with Elbow at Abbey Road Studios in 2009 and is frequently featured on Classic FM and BBC radio. Chantage performs a wide range of repertoire, programming works traditionally performed by English chamber choirs alongside lesser known works sourced from foreign choral cultures. Chantage was formed in 1999 by its Musical Director James Davey, and quickly established itself in London as a stylish and energetic young chamber choir. It draws singers from all over The country and from all walks of life. Strong commitment from its members has helped forge a growing reputation as an outstanding amateur choir with a national reputation. The sense of walking at night is evoked as are The inner-blues of The poem. Rhythmic and thought-provoking.
