The choir's founder and artistic director is Maestro Zakar Keshishian. ...  moreHamazkayin's Armenian Youth Choir (AYC) was founded in order to keep the young generation's taste & interest in classical, folk and contemporary qualified music alive. The choir's founder and artistic director is Maestro Zakar Keshishian. The choir’s pianist is Mrs. Kamila Keshishian. The choir has a multilingual playlist which extends from Armenian traditional folk songs to modern Armenian or non-Armenian songs. These songs are performed in different ways: - A capella - Accompanied by the piano - Accompanied by the Armenian folk traditional band - Accompanied by a modern contemporary band. Many Armenian musicians from Armenia enrich the choir's repertoire with their unique and creative works. The choir members are composed of university students and secondary classes students in Armenian High Schools, as well as young Armenians in the work force. We Annually we p...  moreCarlow Choral Society Carlow Choral Society is a mixed-voice choir of over 60 members (SATB) directed by Blánaid Murphy, Musical Director of the Palestrina Choir, St. Mary’s ProCathedral Girls Choir, Dublin Bach Singers and RIAM Choir. We Annually we perform two large concerts with professional soloists and orchestral musicians in Carlow, ‘Glory of Christmas’ in the National Concert Hall and annual ‘Christmas Crackers’ family concert in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow. We have a remarkable repertoire of many choral works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. Mathews & St. John Passion, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation & Seasons, Brahm’s Requiem & many more. We sing at home & abroad. In November 2011 the choir recorded a Christmas CD. New members are welcome. We rehearse in St. Patrick’s College, Carlow Monday nights from 7.45-10pm.
