A year before, There was already a male Vocal group consisting of six members called MIKE 6, The establishment of which was inspired by a US Vocal group TAKE 6. Voxtet was basically formed by subsequent addition of female singers to MIKE6. The formation of Voxtet started out with nine persons but, during The first three years, it ca me down to The current six members. Most of The singers in Voxtet have Their musical background in various choirs. Some of Them still sing in Jihlava’s famous PS Campanula choir. 1999 Voxtet’s first concert took place on 31 May 1999 in Jihlava’s Horácké Theatre. From Then on, Voxtet’s performed at various minor events as well as its own big shows. 1999-2001 At The beginning, Voxtet was remarkable especially due to The absolute lack of a distinct dramaturgy. Under The musical direction of Kevin Fox (UK) and The baton of house conductor Erez Tal, Vocalocity performs mostly original arrangements of a range of cutting-edge rock/pop/Jazz music. The singers, all of whom come from a background in modern a cappella, range in age but are mostly around Their 20s-30s. After a fruitful year, including 3 full-house concerts and several festivals, working with leading acapella masters such as Line Groth and Eric Bosio, collaborating with leading arrangers, composers and artists and recording for The upcoming Swingle Singers CD, we are looking forward 2015 with a visit to Aarhus Vocal Festival and creating some new recording and video clips of our own. The Ensemble has performed at The Maryland Renaissance Festival annually since 1987. Are you a choral singer? Do you like to sing old and interesting music in different languages? Do you like to dress in costume and attend renaissance festivals? We have The perfect opportunity for you! The Renaissance Revelers are looking for singers. All parts are needed, but we are in particular need of tenors and basses. Ability to sight read is not required but is desirable.
