We rehearse in Balfron Ch...  moreThe Strathendrick Singers is an amateur choir of some fifty Singers, which draws its members from the villages in the Valley of the River Endrick. Members come from Balfron, Killearn, Drymen, Kippen, Aberfoyle and further afield. We rehearse in Balfron Church on Monday nights at 7.30. We are under the musical direction of Mark Evans, and perform publicly at both Christmas and Spring.  

Our beginnings lie at Kingsbury High School in Brent. The School's choir became very successful in the mid-1980s, winning many competitions including the Llangollen Eisteddfod. The School's choir became very successful in the mid-1980s, winning many competitions including the Llangollen Eisteddfod. When School was over, it seemed natural to carry on singing together as a choir, and the group's achievements included reaching the semi-finals of Sainsbury's Choir of the Year and appearing on Opportunity Knocks. In the 1990's, the choir moved to Harrow and officially became known as Jubilate. Sarah Stroh took over as Musical Director in 1999 and since then the choir has grown significantly, doubling in size to its current membership of 43. There are still some original members of the choir, who have been singing together for more than 25 years. Our recent competition successes include winning the Barnardo's National Choir competition in March 2013 and the ladies choir, folk and popular music classes and runner-up with distinction in the sacred music class in the 2012 Mid-Somerset Festival. The Victoria Consort is a Belfast based Chamber choir established in 2011, comprised of some of the finest young Singers from across Northern Ireland. The choir performs a wide range of choral music to a High standard in concerts across the country.
