This lovely 'Choral' comes from Vaughan Williams' cantata 'Hodie' (This Day), composed in 1953 or 1954, and which was his last large-scale choral-orchestral work.

It was recorded on 5th December 2010 in the Harvey Nichols Espresso Bar in Leeds' magnificent Victoria Quarter in the first of St Peter's singers' now-traditional Sunday evening carol performances there.
The Choir is directed by Dr Simon Lindley, its Music Director since the singers' formation in June 1977.

Every year Dziesmuvara takes part in international or national choral competitions. Since 2013 the Choir has travelled to Poland, Lithuania, France and Czech Republic and all around Latvia.
Dziesmuvara also participates in the Latvian Song Celebration festivals and occasionally teams up with fellow university and youth Choirs to sing together in concerts. The more, the merrier!
