We think everyone can Sing and complete beginners, shower Singers and pros are all welcome. With no auditions and no requirements to read music it’s all about the enjoyment Of Singing. We Sing for 3 terms a year and each term ends with a fantastic end Of term charity gig, it’s great to be able to give back to the local community whilst enjoying ourselves so much! We Sing everything from Queen and Aretha Franklin to Hozier and Florence and the Machine, and have members ranging in age from 20-70, there is really something for everyone! This is our choir's 10th year and we're always looking for new members, so if you fancy a Sing please get in touch. We Offer 1 free taster to each new member so you can try the choir out before deciding to join. It is about a mystical tribe Of desert women who would stamp their feet into the dust creating beautiful clouds. Light would shine through and create patterns and rainbows. Men would be attracted by these clouds and come to the women's camp. The Wirindji women would cook for them, mate with them then kill them and eat them! Founded as a male choir in 1900, it became a mixed choir in 1907. The choir was conducted for more than four decades by its founder, the renowned choir conductor and composer Heikki Klemetti. The current artistic director, Esko Kallio (b. 1974), has conducted Suomen Laulu since 2002. The choir's repertoire consists both a cappella works and compositions works for choir and orchestra. Since 1921 the choir has maintained the tradition Of performing the St. Matthew Passion by J.S.Bach every Maundy Thursday in St. John's Church in Helsinki. Suomen Laulu has made five recordings, the most recent Of which was published to celebrate choir's centenary in 2000. The choir also has its own series Of publications, the "Suomen Laulun ohjelmistoa", which contains several Of the finest pieces Of Finnish choral music.  less
