In the repertoire of choir there are works of different styles from Renaissance to modern Aleatory . Folk and sacred music has an important place too . Musica is an un-auditioned, community choir. We sing everything from Schubert to Gospel. We love to challenge ourselves and try new things. We come together every week because we LOVE to make music together and we love the way singing makes us feel :)

There are more than 150 works of various times (Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism and music of the twentieth century) and styles (choral concerts, choral miniatures and songs, spirituals, songs of different nations of the world, folk songs, Christmas music) at the repertoire of our choir. Modern Belarusian music takes a large part of our repertoire, thanks to that we are happy to open Belarus to other nations.

Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of othe...  moreThe Richmond Singers is a 55 voice women’s choir which began performing in 1971. Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of others”. During our musical season (September – June), the choir practices on Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 PM at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Richmond. In addition to our weekly practices we usually plan one or two workshops with a choral clinician, as well as evenings with guest directors. We have two major performances per year, a Family Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May. We are very involved with our community and, by giving benefit concerts, help to raise funds for other organizations such as the Richmond Hospice Society, Canadian Cancer Foundation and Tim Horton’s Kids Camps.
