Musica is an un-auditioned, community choir. We sing everything from Schubert to Gospel. We love to challenge ourselves and try new things. We come together every week because we LOVE to make music together and we love the way Singing makes us feel :)

The choir sings an eclectic mix of pop classics, show songs, spirituals and contemporary pieces. We love what we do and we also love to use our Singing to contribute to the community of Southend by performing regularly within the town and by raising money for local charities. We have represented Southend further afield with performances at Dublin's Guinness Storehouse and Union Chapel, London.

Daniel studied composition with Dr. Elaine Ross and was the recipient of the 2011 Opus 7 Undergraduate Composition Award for his piece "Cain," which was premiered in February 2011 by the Opus 7 Vocal Ensemble. We encourage choral Singing for all ages and abilities, including those who have never sung in choirs before as well as very experienced singers. We perform a wide range of music throughout the year and we're committed to contributing to the cultural life of our area. There is no need to audition, just to love Singing! Our musical director is Rupert Gill.  

Mom, dad, 4 kids... all Singing, playing any instrument since 2005. Adore rich vocal arrangements, especially in rock music. Perform with Beatles covers, Queen covers, all times rock covers and original songs.

GGCC generally performs at least two concerts per year, a Winter/Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert.

Probably Tanzanian folk song with added words written in 1940s with extra verses added in late 1950s. Made famous by Miriam Makeba in early 1960s. The young man sings: "Angel, I love you. What should I do? I don't have any money. I would marry you if I did." This outdoor performance was the culmination of a six-week project which creates a choir from scratch for one night only. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear.
