This piece was presented in the second half of the program, representing the changing seasons, which paralleled the changing moods and textures in the piece's three mini movements.

The Choir consists of participants in workshop weeks, which are offered twice a year in different European countries. Overtone singing is a new Vocal technique that allows for singing two tones simultaneously. EOC sings compositions with written overtones as well as Choir improvisations and contemporary Music. The effect of controlled overtones on the timbre of classical Choir compositions is explored with special ear training.

Together with the jazz-saxophonist Stefan Kuchel and the Sirius Quartet, the young Men's Choir performs contemporary works. The Quartet members describe themselves as artists of improvisation who break out of the conventional vocabulary of sound for a string quartet. Most pieces on this CD were written especially for the Sonux Ensemble, and thus composed to the singers' strengths. "We have worked on these pieces together with the composers, and given them their first performances over the course of the last five years. Nel 2008 Gabriella lascia il coro e viene sostituita brevemente dal M° Benedetto Fiori e, in seguito, da Marta De Colle. Attualmente il direttore è Gino V. Ruoso con cui il coro mantiene il carattere popolare e di montagna, con ampliamento a brani di autori contemporanei.  less

The present church Choir, one of the finest Choirs of it’s type in the UK, is an excellent mixed-voice Choir with about 30 members who are currently brought up to Music by Stephen Dagg, Director of Music (also Director of the Centre for Young Musicians, a...  moreThe present church Choir, one of the finest Choirs of it’s type in the UK, is an excellent mixed-voice Choir with about 30 members who are currently brought up to Music by Stephen Dagg, Director of Music (also Director of the Centre for Young Musicians, a division of the Guildhall School, and the London Schools Symphony Orchestra). The Choir’s repertoire of sacred Music ranges from the 16th to the 21st centuries, including a recently commissioned and premièred work by Roxanna Panufnik. The Choir sings to a cathedral standard every week at the Sung Eucharist on Sunday and Choral evensong every fourth Sunday. It also sings at special services during the year and goes on tour each summer. Recent tours have been to Bordeaux (2014). Dordodgne/Aquitaine (2013), and Rome (2011, 2012).  less
