Bien que les rois mages soient morts, mon étoile va encore me conduire à l'endroit où je peux embrasser la tête auréolée de l'Enfant. The constitution and first rehearsal of the cho...  moreAcademic Male Choir of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing was established on January 11, 2016 as the initiative of the conductor Josip degl' Ivellio and the Dean Professor Mislav Grgic, PhD. The constitution and first rehearsal of the Choir was held on January 18, 2016. The Choir has been holding since its foundation regular weekly rehearsals, and has grown into the biggest male Choir in Croatia, but also wider. The Choir in its repertoire emphasizes classical choral literature, primarily Croatian composers. In addition, the Choir's repertoire includes both a cappella compositions of the classical repertoire, from Renaissance to contemporary music, as well as the clapet and compositions of contemporary or popular multilayer music. Members of the Choir are present the former students and staff of the Faculty, as well as other interested friends and supporters of the Faculty. Since foundation, Choir has won multiple golden plaques and more than 80 concerts or performances.  less

The Choir was directed by highly regarded Croatian musicians Mladen Jagušt, Duško Prašelj, Lovro Županović, Adalbert Marković, Dinko Fio, Vladimir Kranjčević, and Saša Britvić. Since the beginning of 2003 the Choir's artistic director is Luka Vukšić. The director's assistant is Veton Marevci. The Choir's performances have been conducted by Croatia's and world's most eminent musicians, such as Lovro von Matačić, Milan Horvat, Zubin Mehta, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Krzysztof Penderecki, Lorin Maazel, Ennio Morricone, Noam Sheriff, Gerd Albrecht, Kazushi Ono, Alun Francis, Hans Graf, Kurt Masur, Dmitrij Kitajenko, Valerij Gergijev, and Sir Neville Marriner. Due to its diligent and devoted work, with repertoire including pieces by Croatian and other authors spanning from the Renaissance to the 21st century, the Choir reached high quality of interpretation, soon recognized by audience. After many successful performances in Split and the region, the Choir started to participate in various national and international choral competitions, having achieved notable results.
