Soon, however, the weekly...  moreFounded in February 1995, the University of toronto Gospel Choir [UTGC] was formed in celebration of Black History month. the Choir was initially created to unite students with a shared interest in praiSing the Lord through Song. Soon, however, the weekly choir rehearsals became not only a meeting place, but also a refuge for those looking for a non-threatening and empowering environment. Over the years, the Choir has grown to include members of all races and Christian denominations, and celebrates not only the diversity of its members, but also that of its audiences. UTGC has burst onto the international scene, while continuing to serve the greater toronto community in local concerts and university events held throughout the year, like their community Christmas concert, and May's Gospelfest. A weekly hour and a half rehearsal begins with a Singing lesson and warm up that provides members with the vocal skills and techniques they need to Sing amazing Songs from the world of pop, rock and musical theatre including Songs from Adele, Take That, Erasure and many more favourite artists. the lessons are led by our experienced choir leaders who are professional performers themselves and who are skilled at teaching Singing and performance.
