Performances are of a widely varied nature, including major Works such as Verdi's Requiem and Britten's War Requiem. New members always welcome - see website for details. In addition to the main choir there are smaller groups such as the Chamber Choir and Ladies' Choir. An extensive 'Academy' vocal and musical training programme is in place, open to members and non-nembers.  less

By 1933 there was a regular Sung Mass every Sunday with organ. The singers (all male) were professionals hired by the Parish Priest. Within a short time there were sufficient men available for a choir trained by Frank Adams and they sang at Mass and on Sunday evenings at Vespers and Benediction. Our mission is to spread a message of respect for the natural world through music from across the globe, and we have performed at events su...  moreShakti Sings is a national choir of over 150 people who come together every month to honour the earth through song. Our mission is to spread a message of respect for the natural world through music from across the globe, and we have performed at events such as Glastonbury Festival 2013 Opening Ceremony, and the United Nations World Environment Day concert in Staines and in Oxford Street, central London. We welcome men and women of all abilities, and sessions are taught by ear so no experience is needed, just a passion for singing and a love of the earth! Our Musical Director is the renowned Susie Ro Prater who has supported choirs and natural voice movement workshops for many years. Our very enjoyable choir practices take place once a month at the Hythe Centre in Egham, Staines, easily accessible by train from Central London and free parking onsite. Born in September of 2012, the New Hope – Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir is a true community-based and community-oriented chorus, made up of members from the New Hope, Solebury, Lambertville, and immediate surrounding areas. The choir is non-audition, and is open to all singers and would-be singers, ages 14 to 84 (and beyond). NHS&LCC is the New Hope area’s musical voice. We’ll be there a few times a year with concerts, we’ll be singing at community events, for Christmas caroling, at nursing homes & rehab centers, and more.  less

The choir performs every Sunday evening in the Roman Catholic cathedral of St. Colman's, a majestic building situated on a hill in the town famed for being the last port of call for the Titanic. The membership of the choir has grown considerably in the last five years and it now boasts more than 30 voices. The choir is a previous winner at the world famous Cork Choral Festival and has travelled to Vienna, London and Italy to perform at various events. In 2009 the choir was honored to be asked to sing in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City for the Sunday liturgy. That same year they also performed at Westminster Cathedral. They have been asked back to St. Peter's in July 2013 to perform again.
