Founded in 1951 by the late Richar...  moreChorus Inspira (formerly the Richard Eaton Singers) is dedicated to the enjoyment, study and performance of great choral music, to an international standard of excellence, and to fostering the appreciation of this music. Founded in 1951 by the late Richard S. Eaton, RES has played a leading role in Edmonton’s cultural community for more than seven decades. In addition to presenting its own concerts, the choir is a regular guest of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and collaborates frequently with other Edmonton ensembles, including the Alberta Baroque Ensemble. It has also collaborated with other Canadian choirs in the past, including the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus, the Vancouver Bach Choir and the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir.  less

The choir forms p...  moreAbout the Choir The University of Pretoria Youth Choir is a multi-cultural choir consisting of 90 members aged between 14 and 19 years and representing 33 Secondary Schools in the greater Tshwane area. They are all amateur Singers. The choir forms part of the multi-choir model of the University of Pretoria, the others being the UP Jacaranda Children’s Choir, UP Camerata.

The current conductor is Irina Bogdanovich. Choir's forte always were a cappella performances - claim acknowledged with numerous awards, most recenly - third place at the international Busan Choral Festival and Competition in 2014 and Grand Prix at the most prestigious Polish choir tournament Legnica Cantat in 2011. In the beginning, Greenwood Singers specialized in the performance of a cappella music from different stylistic periods. Its programming has now expanded to include works with soloists, instrumental ensembles and chamber orchestra. A versatile ensemble, the choir has performed frequently with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in a wide variety of programs which have included Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, Holst’s The Planets, family Christmas concerts, the concert version of Jerome Kern’s Showboat, Orff’s Carmina Burana (with the Alberta Ballet) and the ESO’s 1992 reunion with the British rock group, Procol Harum.
