Roughly a year after conception the group has successfully represented the Philippines at the 1st Vietnam International Choir Festival and Competition, Hoi An 2011. Under the Leadership of Founder and Choirmaster Ron Oñate, they brought home 2 silver diplomas for the Folk and Sacred Music Categories from the said competition, establishing their mark on the international choir scene. Chamz, as they are popularly known, has continually rendered their voices for various Television shows, Music Festivals, Product endorsements, corporate events, charity concerts and outreach activities. All interested singers are invited to schedule an audition for Wednesday January 28th, February 4th or February 11th at 6:30pm. The ensemble, directed by Jason Asbury, is a Community chorus based in Brooklyn Heights. The 75-member ensemble meets in Brooklyn and is made up of neighbors who range in skill from semi-professional to newbies! Concerts include well known and little-known masterpieces of choral literature from Early Music to Contemporary composers and commissions by Brooklyn musicians. Why not come along and try a free taster!? Choose from either 27th September or 4th October. Whether complete beginner, shower singer or more experienced singer, this choir welcomes you! There are no auditions and no requirements to read music, you just need to love to sing! This term we will be celebrating the amazing feeling of singing in, and being surrounded by harmony and, especially with the venue we'll be rehearsing in, it's set to be a good one! As ever we'll be singing classic pop and soul songs, perhaps with a curve ball surprise just for fun, no winter blues for us! Choir runs from 27th September - 13th December. 11 rehearsals, 1 dress rehearsal and a gig on Saturday 18th December. If you love your taster and decide to join for the term, the term fee is £100. We perform mainly, but not exclusively, classic...  moreThe Barnes choir, originally known as the Barnes Music Club Choir, was established in 1953/4. A friendly and sociable choir, we number some70 singers drawn mostly from the Barnes, Sheen and Richmond areas. We perform mainly, but not exclusively, classical choral works, including those of local composers such as Howard Goodall and Gustav Holst, and we occasionally commission new works, most recently from Russell Hepplewhite. We perform three concerts each season at local venues and we also sing at local charitable events at Christmas, and at summer fêtes, and we raise funds for local cancer support charity The Mulberry Centre at our Christmas Carol concert. We offer an open Come and Sing day each season and arrange overseas singing tours, our most recent being a trip to Lisbon last autumn.  less
